The Purpose of the Policy

As a customer of Butterflies and Fairies it may be deemed necessary for me to hold some information about you and you have the right to understand what information we will collect, how we will collect the information, the reason for collection, what we intend to do with the information and the duration we will retain the information.


The information we will collect

The information we will hold will be as follows:

 

  • Your name

  • Your email address

  • Your postal address

  • Your contact number

 

At no time will we be able to access your sensitive financial information regardless of the payment method you choose.  These may include but are not limited to Paypal, Stripe, Bank Transfer, Etsy Pay, Google Pay, Apple Pay.  All financial information is held securely by the processing companies and at no time is it shared with anyone within the company.

 

How we will collect the information

When you place an order with us, directly on the website www.butterfliesandfairies.co.uk, through our Etsy shop or Ebay you provide sufficient information that allows us to process your order and supply the goods you have purchased.  Our website is provided and hosted by Wix and they use cookies to ensure you are recognised if you visit again in the future.  This may apply to any device you use to visit the website.

 

Who can access your information

Staff of Butterflies & Fairies can access your information if they are involved in the processing of your order.  We do not share your information with anyone else outside of the company.  Third parties involved in the transaction will also hold information about you.  If you pay by Paypal or Stripe they will hold information about you.  If your order is mailed to you Royal Mail or the Courier Company selected will hold information about you.  Each of these entities has their own Privacy Policy and you can request them to share this information with you at any time.

 

The reason for collecting and how we will use your information

We collect your information to allow us to process and fulfil your order.  If you have subscribed to one of our mailing lists or joined our loyalty programme you are giving us permission to contact you for marketing purposes.  If you change your mind about subscribing to any list please email abi@butterfliesandfairies.co.uk to request your removal.

 

How we store your information

We may store your information electronically or manually.  Access to such information is restricted to the Data Officer within the company.  The name of the Data Officer will be provided to you on request.  Electronic information is stored on a computer that has two-tier security and manual information is stored in a securely locked storage facility.

 

How long will we store your information

We are bound by HMRC to retain information relating to our sale of goods and/or services to you for a period of 7 years.  If you have subscribed to our mailing list or loyalty programme we will hold your data until you request removal.

 

Your rights to access the information we hold about you

You have the right to request at any time a copy of the information we hold about you.  We will provide you with a copy of this information free of charge.  You may request at any time that your information is amended, deleted or transferred.
